Sleipnir at the school library

Reykjavík UNESCO City of Literature has appointed Sleipnir as the Children's Reading Buddy. Sleipnir reminds us about the JOY OF READING - the adventure and travel in time and space that reading brings us. He encourages us to get to know the world through reading. Here, Sleipnir learns to use the school library. This video is for librarians and teachers as well as children and book lovers of all ages.

Sleipnir is a figure from Norse mythology - Odin's 8th legged horse that can fly between worlds. In the name of Sleipnir, the Reykjavík City of Literature takes part in projects that encourage children and young people to discover the adventure and joy of reading.
