From Countries without Borders:

Listen

I stand at a busy intersection,
My heart is on fire.
My voice is thunder.
My arms streching towards
the earth, and the sky
at the same time.

Listen, listen to the voice of grief
pulsing through your marrow.
Generation after generation of grief
singing a mournful song of your DNA.

Listen, listen to what your heart is singing
when the sun is rising every morning.

Write it on the walls with bright yellow,
sing it without a song.
Be it, move it, shout it.

- It is always darkest before dawn.
