About the Book

When Sunna and Arsol receive a letter from their mother who claims to be at death’s door they have opposite reactions: Arsol wants to rush to her side but Sunna is full of misgivings. The mother and daughters share a fraught relationship with a past marked by disappointment and pain. In the end the sisters are joined by Barbara, an old friend of their mother, as they hurry off to Andalucia. What happens upon their arrival takes everyone by surprise, but gradually they come to realize that new friends are much more important than old sins.

Asa Marin’s previous novels include Halfway Around the Globe and The Path of the Wind, both of which are about unexpected adventures in exotic places. In Dear Suns we follow three markedly different women through sweeping countryside and bustling cities until you can almost feel the sun beating down as you sip your sangria.
