Registration is now open for the Iceland Writers Retreat, a five day program in Reykjavik for published and aspiring writers of both fiction and non-fiction books. The program will take place from April 4 -13, 2014. It includes a series of workshops and panels led by a team of international writers and editors, tours of Reykjavik and the Icelandic countryside and an opportunity to meet local writers. This 2014 retreat will be loosely focused on the theme of travel and journeys. Among writers that will lead workshops and give lectures are Susan Orlean (USA), Geraldine Brooks (USA and Australia), Randy Boyagoda (Canada), Ian Reid (Canada) and James Scudamore (UK). The retreat will be based out of Hotel Natura in Reykjavik close to the city centre. The workshops and panels will be based there, but participants will also be able to enjoy literary and cultural events at other places in the city. The retreat's is supported by Icelandair and Icelandair Hotels, as well as the Reykjavik UNESCO City of Literature, the Icelandic Literature Center, the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture and Visit Reykjavik.
