Dark Deeds in Reykjavik

Reykjavík City Library hosts a free literary walking tour in downtown Reykjavík every Thursday in June, July and August at 5pm. The focus in on crime stories, ghosts and other fenomenon on the darker side. The walk, which takes about an hour at an easy pace, takes off from the main library in Tryggvagata 15. This is a fun way to get to know Icelandic literature with a bit of history mixed in. The guides introduce the literature and its connection to the stop in question and read a short excerpt from the text. No booking is needed for these free Thursday walks. Just show up at the City Library at 5 pm and join the group. The walk can also be booked for groups throughout the year for a fee of ISK 40.000.
