Ragnar Jónasson

Bio

Ragnar Jónasson was born in Reykjavík in 1976. He graduated from The Commercial College of Iceland and earned his law degree from The University of Iceland. While studying he worked for the National Broadcasting Service, both on radio and on the television news desk. He now practices law and teaches copyright law at Reykjavík University.

Ragnar has translated fourteen of Agatha Christie’s crime novels to Icelandic. The first, Sígaunajörðin (Endless Night), was published in 1994. Ragnar’s first crime novel, Fölsk nóta (False Note), was published in 2009. Five more crime novels have followed, most recently Hvítidauði (White Death) in 2019.

Ragnar lives in Reykjavík with his wife and daughter.
